Howelsen Ski Area
In the early 1900s, high-flying
Norwegian Carl Howelsen showed that skis could be used for fun as well
as work at the local ski hill in downtown Steamboat Springs. Today,
Howelsen Hill is the oldest ski area in continuous use in Colorado and
has the largest and
most complete natural ski jumping complex in North America. 970.879.8499

Natural Hot Springs
Enjoy numerous natural rock pools, ranging in temperature from mild
to hot at Strawberry Park Hot Springs, located roughly 7 miles from
downtown Steamboat or at Steamboat Springs Health and Recreation Center.
Both spots are a perfect way to unwind and get away from it all in a
beautiful setting.
Historic Downtown Steamboat Located along the Yampa River,
historic Steamboat Springs encompasses Oak Street, Yampa Street and
Lincoln Avenue from 3rd to 12th streets. Maintaining much of its turn-of-the-century
western flavor, this unique town holds treasures such specialty shops
and antique stores, museums, day spas, art galleries & studios,
book stores, fitness facilities, retail & outdoor stores, as well
as casual and fine-dining restaurants. Enjoy a beverage at one of the
coffee shops or bars, indulge in an old-fashion malt from a 1950s ice
cream bar, or winter fly-fish the Yampa River without ever leaving downtown.

THE
MOUNTAIN: Steamboat is one of North America's largest mountains
with 165 trails, 3,668 vertical feet, and nearly 3,000 skiable acres,
including six peaks filled with world-class groomed cruisers, bumps,
steeps, open meadows, legendary tree skiing, Mavericks Superpipe and
terrain parks.
Steamboat
is accessible by nonstop air service from nine major U.S. cities on
American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United Airlines in addition
to convenient connecting service from more than 150 other domestic
and international cities. All service is direct into the renovated
Steamboat/Hayden Airport (HDN).
Steamboat
Unbridled represents a renaissance to the mountain (nearly $30 million
since 2006/07), mountain village, lodging properties, retail and dining
establishments, as well as a transformed Steamboat/Hayden airport
hat holds true to the heart and soul of Ski Town, U.S.A. Nearly $1
billion dollars is anticipated to be spent on Steamboat Unbridled
now and in the coming years.
The
heart and soul of Steamboat will remain deeply rooted in a real town,
with a century long tradition of welcoming people to the wide open,
snow filled Yampa Valley. Steamboat Unbridled doesn't change history
or culture; it just takes the best, adds to it and produces something
that, we believe, is just short of heavenly.
