NSAA Safety Week, Jan 14-22,National Safety Awareness Week is an annual event highlighting resort safety education efforts while increasing slope safety. Join us for Ski Patrol demos, sun safety tips, terrain park safety, and helmet information.  More details to come. Neptune Mountaineering Joins us to kick off safety week with avalanche awareness and safety information.  Pieps will be on hand to discuss the proper use of beacons and lead some training on usage with the Loveland Ski Patrol.

Bent Gate Mountaineering Demo Day, Jan 15, Bent Gate Mountaineering visits Loveland to host a demo day with their line of Telemark and AT gear. Pre-register with Bent Gate to receive a discount lift ticket and lunch package. There is no cost to participate, although a drivers license and credit card are required for deposit as is a valid lift ticket.
   
Free Family Race Day, Jan 28, Loveland hosts a free Family Race Day!  The race will be open to skiers and snowboards of all ages and abilities.  Come out and race each other for bragging rights and race medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest time in many different age categories.  The race is free and open to everyone.

Outdoor Divas Demo Day, Feb. 2, The Outdoor Divas visits Loveland for a women's specific demo day. This is your chance to come and try all the latest womens ski equipment before you buy it. For more information on brands and models which will be available to test, please contact Outdoor Divas. There is no cost to participate, although a drivers license and credit card are required for deposit as is a valid lift ticket.

Babes in the Backcountry, Feb. 5, Start the New Year off on the right foot with a Babe's Tele Clinic!  Brush up on your Tele moves or learn the basics of free heel skiing.  PSIA certified female instructors will help you take your skiing to the next level.  Gain new skills and tips to improve your skiing, a refreshed outlook to have even more fun on the mountain with new female Tele friends of similar skiing ability.  All Levels Welcome, no Telemark Experience Required! (Yes- that means Never Ever Tele Babes too!) Some basic alpine skiing skill recommended (Babes should be able to do a wedge)The Full Day Clinic (8am - 4pm) Includes: Morning yoga/stretching, full day of instruction, goodies, Demo Skis (based on availability), Demo Boots- Please let us know if you need boots and we will direct you to a retail shop. Beta Theta Pi - Ski-a-Thon, Feb. 11, The men of Beta Theta Pi from the Colorado School of Mines visits Loveland to host their annual Ski-a-Thon Philanthropy event.  Join us for a day of silent auctions, raffles, food and of course great skiing!  Packages including lift ticket, lunch, raffle ticket and t-shirt will be available.  Details to coming soon!

21st Annual Mountaintop Matrimony, Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, The 21st Annual Valentine’s Day Mountaintop Matrimony ceremony and reception is a Loveland tradition where new couples are joined in matrimony and married couples renew their vows in a mass wedding at The Ptarmigan Roost Cabin, elevation 12,050 feet, located at the top of Lift #2. The Honeymooner's Apres Party for all participants and their guests follows the ceremony at the Loveland Basin featuring music, wedding cake, spirits and even a best dressed contest.  Participating couples must pre-register online in order to receive the 2 for 1 lift ticket special.  For more information please call (303) 571-5580 Ext. 141.

Family Race Day, Feb. 25, Visit Loveland as we host another free Family Race Day.  The race will take place on Firecut off Chair 2 from 10am - 2pm and will be open to skiers and snowboards of all ages and abilities.  Come out and race each other for bragging rights and medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd fastest time in many different age categories.  The race is free and open to everyone.  Just sign up the morning of on the Basin Patio or at the top of the course.

G.O.A.L.S. Get Up, Get Down, Get Out Fundraiser, March 10, The mission of the GOALS organization is to inspire exploration in youth through multi-day wilderness river trips.   The Get Up, Get Down, Get Out is a fun and exciting way to raise money for an outstanding organization. Participants will make a commitment to ski or ride no less than 10,000 vertical feet at Loveland Ski Area on March 10th, 2012. Between now and the event, they’ll gather financial pledges from friends and family members who recognize the value of outdoor programs for youth. On the day of the vertical challenge, they’ll be able to monitor their real-time results on live leader boards at the base area, as total vertical feet will be tracked in real-time through GPS-based devices. At the end of what will certainly be a fun and exciting day, participants who get themselves UP and DOWN the mountain will have helped to raise the funds needed to get kids OUTside in a GOALS river program!

Subaru's Master the Mountain, Mar 17 - 18, Subaru has created an event weekend dedicated to promoting a safe and enjoyable snowrider environment. Subaru’s Master of The Mountain events include free mini-lessons in the Subaru Learning Lane, Nordica demos and an insider’s look at the operations of the National Ski Patrol with an avalanche awareness and beacon training session. Free goodies and prizes surround the event as a Subaru command post is set up at the base of the mountain complete with free popcorn, hot chocolate and coffee. The first 100 Subaru drivers to enter the parking lot receive VIP treatment with front row parking right next to Lift 1. This promises to be a weekend you won’t want to miss. Participation is free to all skiers and snowboarders with a valid lift ticket

Loveland's Tall T's n' Tacos (Orig. Vert Alert), March 24, Loveland Ski Area is excited to host the Tall T's n' Tacos Terrain Park Competition.  Skiers and Snowboarders of all ages and abilities are invited to come out and compete for the chance to win some of the $10,000 in prizes with lunch to be provided by Wahoo's Fish Tacos.  More details will be announce ASAP, so mark it in your calendar, this is a competition you are not gonna want to miss!

New Belgium Brewery's Scavenger Hunt, March 31, New Belgium Brewing and Loveland Ski Area team up to bring back the popular on-hill Scavenger Hunt.  Build your team and sign up for a day of riddles, clues, and problem solving as you race around the mountain scoring points and having fun.  Tons of great prizes and of course New Belgium Beer!

The Loveland Poker Run - Autism Society Benefit, TBA, 2012, Spice up that already great day of skiing with an on-hill game of poker!  The only thing different with this poker game is there are no losers!  All the proceeds will benefit the Autism Society of Colorado.  Ski around the mountain and visit the different dealers to pick up your hand and turn it in at the end of the day.  There are tons of great prizes for the winners and it is all for a great cause!

51st Annual Loveland Derby, Dates TBA , 2012, For more than 50 years Loveland Ski Area has been hosting America's largest amateur race, The Loveland Derby!  Racers from all across the country dress up and travel to Colorado for the last race of the season.  Don't miss out on costumes, BBQs and fast paced racing fun.  For more information, visit lovelandracing.com. 

Loveland's Tall Tees & Tacos (Orig. Vert Alert), April 21, Loveland Ski Area and Wahoo's Fish Tacos are excited to host the Tall T's n' Tacos Terrain Park Competition on Saturday, April 21st, 2011.  Skiers and Snowboarders of all ages and abilities are invited to come out and compete in this slopestyle event for the chance to win some of the $10,000 in prizes.  Registration cost is $20 and includes a free tall tee and lunch from Wahoo's Fish Tacos.  Coupons for half price registration and a discounted lift ticket are available at all Colorado Wahoo's Fish Taco locations.  Mark it in your calendar, this last major comp of the season is a competition you are not gonna want to miss!  Inverted maneuvers will result in disqualification.

Corn Harvest Benefit Ski Party, April 28, Loveland Ski Area hosts the 10th annual Corn Harvest benefit ski party for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. Join us for food, New Belgium Beer, raffles, and a fun day of skiing all for a good cause.

You can learn for less at Loveland! The Loveland Ski & Ride School has something for every level of skier and rider and offers telemark, private, group, family and women-specific lesson packages. Reservations required for ages 4 to 6 years. 3 CLASS PASS: Complete 3 beginner lesson packages and receive a FREE season pass! Loveland receives 400” of snow every year and offers one of the longest seasons in the country. And Loveland is bigger than you think. We hide the good stuff in the back where you can find powder stashes days after a storm hits. We also have a variety of terrain for every level of skier and snowboarder. Chair 9 carries skiers and riders to an elevation of 12,700 feet high atop the Continental Divide where 360 degree views, open bowls and powder choked chutes await. Extreme not your scene? Loveland is also well known for its perfectly groomed blue cruisers and its separated beginner area, The Loveland Valley.

APRES SPOT
The Rathskeller Bar at Loveland Basin offers spring concerts, Taco Tuesdays and regular après parties. Georgetown and Idaho Springs also offer great bars, restaurants and activities for you on your way back to Denver. ALTERNATE DAY
Enjoy a day off the slopes in the authentic mountain community of Georgetown, just 12 miles east of Loveland. Georgetown has been luring visitors since the 1850s with its beautiful scenery, rich history and warm hospitality. Or head west to Summit County and shop the Outlets at Silverthorne, just 12 miles west of the ski area.
